Finding the right people
You have a need for qualified people? Then start you search with our Advanced Search program that will search through all of our members qualifications and make recommendations to start your search.
One you have potential contacts, you can carry on further research by narrowing down their region of origin, interests or whatever else is in their profile.
Vwork.com is not responsible for the choices you make or for the veracity of the profile online, so it is therefore your responsibility to conduct further checks into your potential contacts by doing things such as:
- Read their Vwork profile, ask to be friends and introduce yourself, say what you are looking for and ask a few questions about them
- Read any links the users has posted, paying particular attention to Blogs or profiles and reviews on online work sites
- Eventually select one or two candidates and ask to meet them with skype.
- Always ask for reference work they have done recently so that you can call them and get a different point of view on the candidate.
These recommendations are a good start and but you should do more (see building strong virtual partners) until you are comfortable that you understand and can trust the candidate with a small project initially to test their performance and how easy they are to work together. Read the article on virtual project teams to get tips on how to work well remotely.
Our partner site Elance is also an excellent source of people. Register and get access to lots of resources and reviews on workers.
